Welcome to the Bolton Local Involvement Network (LINk)
LINKs have been set up to give communities a stronger voice on how their health and social care services are provided and delivered.
The Bolton LINK is an independent network made up of individuals, community groups and organisations with an interest in health and social care and covers the whole of the Borough.
Our aim is to put people and communities at the heart of health and social care services, making sure people’s views are heard at all levels. The LINK provides an opportunity for everyone to work together and to shape and influence health and social care services that meet the needs of people in Bolton.
Our job is to:
- ask people about their needs and experiences, what they like or don’t like about local health and social care services, or make suggestions to improve services for the better
- make these views known to those responsible for running the services and make recommendations on how services could be improved
- help the council, the PCT, NHS and other social care providers to listen and respond to these views and improve health and social care services in Bolton
- promote and support people getting involved in the commissioning, provision and scrutiny of health and social care services,
- review those services, investigate specific issues, and use LINk powers to hold services to account and get results
- make sure that the Bolton LINk is for everyone.
The LINK has been given certain powers to:
- ask for information and get replies to questions and recommendations from those who plan and run services;
- enter and view services where publicly funded care is provided to see if services are working well and
- refer issues to the Council’s overview and scrutiny committee if it seem action is not being taken and get a response
